Gallup has dropped Bush's approval to 60% among Republicans, Pollster has his overall at 28.3%. Among all the primary hoopla we forget that the American people hate Bush more every day. Bush will hang from McCain's neck in November.
Only if we work to keep the Bush/McCain connection front and center during the campaign. We cannot count on the mainstream media to do so.
Of course, McCain has his own ethical and financial issues to deal with, even without the added burden of backing from George Bush. Still, it will take a concerted effort to remind the short term memory impaired public that a vote for McCain is four more years of Bush policy.
And, we must never underestimate the Democratic Party's ability to give away an election.
